HIGH ACCESS RESCUE TEAM AND SERVICE PERSONNEL SMASH THE RECORD FOR THE LONGEST ACCUMLATIVE ABSEIL FOR OUR WAR WOUNDED
On the weekend of the 17th-19th of September, team members from the Army, Ambulance, Coastguards, Fire Services and the RAF walked, climbed and abseiled 6 of the highest mountain peaks in the world.
Abseiling for a mind numbing 33 hours continuously! We achieved our target and abseiled 6 of the “Worlds Highest Mountain Peaks” in record time (Sunday 2am)
The guys completed the “6 Peaks Challenge” but were still hungry for more! Madness must have set in because they decided to go a step further and, Abseil the Worlds Final Peak.
After a quick and frantic check on the internet, we found the 7th peak: MT Vinson Massif (Antarctica) located 750 miles from the South Pole standing at an impressive height of 4897 meters.
Not only did we complete the height of all The Highest Mountain Peaks from each Continent, we continued to abseil and reached a grand total of 720 completed abseils (43,200 meters).
This is a great achievement for all involved and Help for Heroes will be the beneficiary of all the sponsorship raised. As yet the total amount of money raised is still undisclosed as team members are still collected funds.
